I haven't had picture-ful entries for a while now.
Anyway, recently bought this book on Mahathir called Mahathir:The Secret of The Malaysian by an author whose name I forgot but I know he's an ambassador to Malaysia in a Middle East country. After only a quarter way through the book, I'm giving it a 10/10 rating. The title should actually be The Secret of The Malaysian Under The Ruling of Mahathir. The author started off the book with that one UMNO meeting in which Mahathir announced that he was gonna resign, to which everyone objected and among the first to dash to the rostrum where Mahathir was giving his speech was Rafidah. OK, author's name is Hajrudin Somun. Get your hands on that book I say because it just proved to me time and again, that the government was in much better control under the leadership of Che Det. And I'm not simply saying this because I had the honor of meeting Tun twice in person but he really was such a passionate leader, putting the country before himself and what differentiates him from other leaders/ministers is his farsightedness. He had plans, he worked on them but he says he "failed miserably", with particular reference to the Bumis. And alas, he concluded he failed as a Prime Minister because he failed to improve the mindset of the Bumis. And that, believe it or not, was his biggest regret. I take my hats off you, Dr M. You may not have been perfect, but you are, by far, the best in my opinion.
It was a strong introduction and has kept me glued sinced I bought it. In short, or rather up to where I have read, Mahathir was disappointed with the Bumis considering everything was given to them in order to succeed and perhaps outdo the Chinese. Not surprisingly, things did not go the way he had planned for them and why? I think that's rather obvious. I quote Mahathir, ok fine not exactly quote but he said something to this effect, "without the Chinese, there would not have been today", and say whatever you want, racist or otherwise, I couldn't agree more.
Outing with Ms Zuzu was good today. Can't believe she's been a mother for 9 months and counting. Just couldn't imagine her as a mother in the Cempaka days but whatever, her lil' baby Adam's eye balls are huge and round and his eye lashes are super long. And she paid for tea although we tried to go Dutch. Is it me or do working people just feel the need to pay for a meal/outing? Aikee paid for dinner the other day and for that, I really felt bad cos it's not as though he started working eons ago. Ms Zuzu, well, fair enough she's been with Bank Negara for a minimum of two years now and she's married, at least she has external financial support but anyway, my point is, I think going Dutch is the best for now.
So work has ended a week earlier than planned. Going off for 3nights to Bandung on Tues.
At the conclusion of my supposedly month-long internship with Standard&Poors, I have decided either, 1) I'm not made for a 9-5 job or 2) I'm just not ready to start working life. And therefore, I'll try to study for as long as I can, as advised by my colleagues at work whom were all helpful and friendly-ish. Think it was just me feeling awkward in the office with no one from my generation.
Goodnight.
Btw, is NetBank down?

Seriously I have lost the inspiration to blog.
My blog skin just puts me off everytime I see it. I need a new skin and I've been saying that since last year.
It's not like I've been sitting on it, it's just that it's so bloody hard to find a nice simple mature skin. All I get are those stupid fairy tale, black emo shit, fancy colourful nonsense and what not when I get on to blogskins.com. It's so fannoying.
So please excuse me for the lack of updates. It's not an excuse. It's a bloody reason.
Work has been boring. I should demand a different kind of task from the boss next week.
Now I understand why working adults just wanna drop everything down and chillax when they get back from work.
I look forward to public holidays so much now. Ie today, Awal Muharram. And I took tomorrow off to allow myself a long weekend. Bloody hell it's only been a week and I'm feeling sien of crawling up with eyes half opened at 6.45am every weekday!
Is that bad? But I know I know, I should really make full use of my time at Standards& Poor.
But I start work earlier in Melb, bloody 7.30am. Thinking back, I don't know how I managed to. Work starts an hour later here but still, it's the freaking morning rush hour jam that just makes you feel completely I-don't-wanna-go-through-this-every-morning kinda thing. Anyway, I've only got three weeks to go, I'll make it through yes I will.
Big big thankyou to Fred and Daniel for coming to lunch with me during my lunch hour at work for the past week.
A certain someone is supposedly going to start coming too next week, hopefully. HOPEFULLY, lah.
Since I took tomorrow off, I've decided to visit school. It's not everyday I get a free weekday now.
I miss Melbourne, somehow.
