What bullshit have you recently brought up?
Public transport fares to rise again?
You have to be dead kidding me. Dude you just took over leadership and this is your very first move? Bravo.
Public transport fares to rise
The cost of a daily Zone 1 ticket will increase by 20 cents from January 1.
Minister for Public Transport Lynne Kosky announced new fares for Melbourne's metropolitan public transport system in 2008.
Bulk purchase and periodical tickets such as 10 x 2 hour and monthly tickets will increase by between 10¢ and 80¢ a week, while V/Line fares will go up by 2.1%.
Ms Kosky said the average fare for travel on trains, trains and buses would rise by 2.1% from January 1 next year, in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase for Melbourne in the 12 months to the end of the September quarter.
A new 5 x Weekend Daily Metcard will be sold from April that will allow people to buy five days of Saturday and Sunday travel on the one Metcard, saving time and money, she said.
5 x Weekend Daily card holders are entitled to five days of unlimited weekend travel anywhere on the metropolitan network for $14.50, which works out to $2.90 a day.
Sunday Saver tickets will go up slightly in price from $2.50 to $2.90 - the first price increase since the fare was announced in December 2004.
You work out the rise in percentage and present it divided by four weeks? Quite smart, huh? Just to make it sound less?!
You're such an arse hole I tell you. If my memory serves me correctly, the freaking last rise was just in May? Dude you seriously think we, international students have really fat bank accounts with a steady stream flowing in every month? Year after year, student unions have protested for concession fares for international students as well. As international students, we're ALREADY paying FULL FEES as opposed to the bloody locals who pay only HALF and YET we are not entitled to CONCESSION TICKETS. What kinda bullocks is this? You obviously don't feel the pinch because you're bloody chaffeured around. And I thought you were bringing fresh changes for the Australian government. Looks like the increase in fares are apparently 'fresh'.
You're taking Australia for a ride dude. So what if you can speak fluent Mandarin?

Tooth ache is not fun.
Especially when all you want to do is stuff yourself silly with food food food and nothing else.
I don't recall experiencing tooth ache when my other three wisdom tooth came out.
WTF I HATE THIS SHIT.
It's so pain but I hate visiting the dentist.
Sorry I think I kinda broke my record/promise about not swearing.
You automatically begin to swear a lot when you're back home.
Customer service in Malaysia is inexistent. Especially in the government sectors.
Tryna renew passport today was such a pain. Effing system at the immigration in Damansara Heights was down today. Of all days, today. Damn WTF.
So off we went to the Subang branch. OMG KNNCB EVEN WORSE! Place was packed, packed with all sorts of people and stuffy beyond words. Combine a packed place with stuffy air and KL's nothing but hot weather, I was effing annoyed. Just to submit the documents together with the passport, there were 100+ people before me. That meant the waiting time to ONLY submit those bullshit, was a minimum of one hour. And to get the new passport on the very same day, the wait was gonna be two hours. I couldn't be stuffed to wait another 3 odd hours. So eff that shit, we're gonna go back to the Damansara Heights one tomorrow in hope that the system is back up and running. At least the driving license was done today.
And to top it all off, government staffs are as rude as anything.
So much for having "Service with a smile" at every bloody effing counter. My arse, I say.
Other than that, results released this morning, 8am aus time. Alarm rang at 5.30am and about an hour later, I was pleased with everything except Logistics. Yits and Fred, I reckon we should protest outside Annibal's office.
Dinner last night @ Vincenzo, Fei's 19th. Girl, we need another get together soon. Last night was waaaay too big a group to do any catching up. But glad nonetheless that I was able to celebrate your 19th with you this year. Drinks @ Starbucks, BV after dinner. I knew better than to order their coffee beverages so I had Green Tea Frap. Sorry, the effect of working in a cafe back in Melb. Seriously, coffees in Malaysia super CMI. Robert Harris' coffee-bleah. Their latte was served in a freaking cappucino cup today. Like hello?
Dinner tonight with mom's side in celebration of cousin's marriage rego today.
Pics from Fei's 19th will be up, provided I get it from that girl, who's probably mugging her life away atm. All the best for your papers Jason&Fei. Glad your papers will be over soon, so we can start planning a trip, which would hopefully take off.
Out of three days, I've had pan meen twice. Never tasted so good, Yuun Tatt. =D
Okay I miss Crema. :(

Nostalgic is how I feel.
Undiscovered by James Morrison and Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
Songs that used to play at work.
Bittersweet, is really it.
I will miss work.
But I'm looking forward to a well deserved break.
I will miss walking the streets of Melbourne.
But then again, I'd be driven/driving back home.
I will miss the people at work.
But I'll see them in three months, or hopefully less than that.
I'll miss home in Melbourne.
But then again, it's back to my queen bed.
I came home earlier today to pack.
But it's such a dread to start.
Deal with it.
Baby pictures of Aidan helps.
He's such a cute little thing.
Don't quote the abovementioned if I say I'm having a good time back home in the next update.
I'll miss the people and the place.
I'll be back.

I'm in need of a new blogskin.
This is getting really old and boring.
I've been waking up at 6.30am the past two weeks for work. Yes, it's been tiring. Rather hard to wake up in the mornings but about an hour or two in to work, I go 'hey it's not that bad. it's still so early i'll have plenty of time to do whatever i wanna do later'. Besides, it makes up for my $$$ spent on shopping. I tell you, I dare not even calculate how much I've spent on retail therapy after my papers. It's a little bit here and there but when it adds up, *faints*.
It's the time of the year again when you ring people up to meet up for goodbye drinks/dinners. Had a good five hours chat with Chin and Yits over Koko Black and Correttos the other day. Yits was flying home the day after. Not like we won't meet up in KL, considering his home was sort of THE HQ last time. But it's just..a tradition so to speak, to have a last meal/drink before someone leaves. We have decided to do something more productive with our lives. Not to say we're redundant now. But I guess it's more like a "i wanna look back ten years later knowing i've done something to be proud of" sort of thing. A sense of accomplishment. That satisfied, accomplished, proud feeling. Just a thought...that will hopefully materialize next year.
I'm stuck in choosing my electives for next year. Thing is, I want a no-brain subject for my second semester next year, as my subjects in my second sem next year are quite..stressful ones I believe.
UGRD Semester 1 2008
International Trade Operations
Business Statistics 1
Macroeconomics 2
Internat'l Political Economy
UGRD Semester 2 2008
Global Marketing
Commercial Law
Intro to Financial Planning
-still thinking-
See, LAW, FINANCIAL PLANNING, =.=
I was thinking Mandarin, but then again written Mandarin is not that easy to be considered 'no brain'. I wanted a language subject, but come to think of it, I doubt Languages, especially a completely foreign language, can be labelled a 'no brain-er'.
So I flipped back into more concrete subjects like Financial Accounting and Financial Markets. I'm thinking these kinds of subjects would add more value to my degree as opposed to taking a language. But then again Financial Accounting etc are not 'no brain-ers'. :(
And I need to re-enrol before the 15th of Dec.
Alright, need to crash now to rise early tomorrow.
Taking a drive to Lorne tomorrow morning, about 2 hours away from Melbourne. The Chens are extremely bored of the hustle and bustle of the city (omg sounded so tourist-isy), the boring trams, the sad looking buildings, the human traffic, the dusty air etc in the city and are therefore taking a day trip to Lorne tomorrow. And back in the Melbourne for Doggie's 25th birthday dinner at night.
To those buggers back in KL, damn you guys for going back so early.
Ange, sorry for not making it to dinner tonight. You have a safe flight out tomorrow and hopefully see you in Singapore if we go down. Or better still, come visit us in KL. :)
"Pre departure blues", I fear. :(
*Screams out to Nek.....*

This feeling is so surreal.
I have completely nothing to do for four months. Besides working for another three weeks before I go home.
Am I wasting time? :(
Nvm, at least there are plans for this week while lousy Melb Uni ppl mug their way through exams. Going out with uni friends to celebrate end of semester, and also end of ANNIBAL (this idiotic Logistics lecturer of ours).
Yuun Tatt just never learns. He never finishes his work 24 hours before the due date. It's now 4.05pm and his essay's due at 5pm. He's still working on it on his laptop.
Sigh
, buck up your Firethorn socks banana!
Was really quiet today at work but time passed quicker than the other day, somehow. Only one breakfast order today and yet time seemed to have passed quicker.
Di, I don't know if you still read this but if you happen to, please leave your dates here or email it to me. I heard you're off to Bangkok right after you return from US, that leaves you with only about a week or two in KL? We need to plan! Zong was saying maybe a trip somewhere. But Poe's going to KK with the rest and I don't know what date she'll be returning from her honeymoon. Throw me some dates Fei, Jason, Karbs! Since I am,
kinda
free at the mo here. =D
Okay okay, so this entry was meant to wish all
Melb Uni
humans the best of luck with all your papers and due dates. Just remember to vomit out all that you have studied the many many nights and days leading up to the paper. Exams are such a waste of time sometimes.

So it’s been TWO DAYS! =D
Feels really weird but satisfying nonetheless.
I would say Marketing was the hardest paper really. I know how people go “Marketing is peanuts” etc but honestly Marketing was the paper I completely feared. Too many theories, too many concepts. But, heck care! It’s OVER!! To hell with Marketing.
So it’s gonna be a chilling three weeks before I go home.
I know I’ve been ranting a lot to people about how I can’t wait to go home, how I miss home and all that nonsense, but I think when the time comes to leave Melbourne for a solid three months holiday back home, I’d say I’m gonna miss Melbourne too.
That’s always the case, isn’t it?
The first chapter of uni has closed. Time flies. That’s a complete understatement, sometimes. I can’t believe I’m done with first year of uni. I didn’t feel it at all this year. Still feels like Trinity was just yesterday. But whatever, first year is out the window. Time to really get down to work next year , try NOT to skip classes and attempt to finish all or part of tute works before tute. :)
I think I feel rather contented with this year on the whole. Wanted to work part time, check. Do reasonably well (only in first semester, keeping fingers crossed for second sem), check. Be financially independent for my own expenses, check. Be reasonably committed to a relationship, check. Go on a trip out of the city, in to the countryside, check. Yay for reasonably well time management. Don’t quote me if I go downhill next year, I beg of you.
There’s so much to look forward to back home! PAN MEEN. =D First thing in the morning, straight from airport. That’s a tradition with the Chens returning from Melbourne. New car. Old familiar faces. Long awaited, much needed catch ups. Wedding. Family time (shuddup, I’m a filial daughter k). Unlimited broadband. Spending without converting. Walking ATM. :) Converting my Ps to a permanent license! Gawd I feel so old. Going back to Cempaka. High school visits.
That said, I’ll miss Melbourne for three months too. After all, it’s a place where I was forced out of comfort zone.
so you could give me wings to fly. and catch me if i fall.
